2011 Traditional Sketches

I finally got around to sticking these in the scanner and compiling them into one file!

I was practicing different mouth types, elf ear types, faces, profiles, and other odds and ends. In the top left corner you can see a dark-skinned girl with stylized cornrows; she's my Vocaloid fan-character who sings jazz. ^^

There was also this one character who I tried different hairstyles on (the pointy-nosed fellow with the curly hair) and his sister (the girl with the eyepatch). At the bottom you might recognize Kyle embarrassing himself in front of Vora, and the genderbent versions of Gerald and Phyllis.



TRiViA: When I'm designing a character, I often wait to add the hairstyle until I'm satisfied with the face. Sometimes I like the face so much I'm afraid that I'll ruin it with an ugly hairstyle, so I leave it bald!
